Quality counts: Rembrandtin certified according to Automotive Standard IATF 16949:2016

In July 2019, Rembrandtin added Automotive Standard IATF 16949:2016 issued by TÜV AUSTRIA to its portfolio of certifications for quality and eco-management as well as occupational safety and health. IATF 16949:2016 is a globally recognised standard for quality management in the automotive industry and was published in 2016 by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF). The successful certification proves that Rembrandtin meets all the strict requirements of the quality management systems for the automotive industry.

“As market leader for core plate varnishes we have been serving renowned automotive industry suppliers for decades. Our core values sustainability, quality, and innovation are reflected not only by our products but by all our business processes. Our commitment to these values was reinforced by the successful IATF 16949 certification. We are particularly happy that we could cooperate with our long-time partner TÜV Austria in the certification process”, Dipl.-Ing. Gerhard Typpelt, Managing Director of Rembrandtin Lack GmbH Nfg. KG, said. Thus, Rembrandtin is the first company in Austria to be certified by TÜV Austria according to the IATF standard. “The IATF 16949 certification was an opportunity to strengthen our long-standing partnership with TÜV Austria as well as to highlight the excellent quality of Rembrandtin products and services. Thus, OEMs which are customers of our core plate varnish business can rely on the fact that all customer-specific requirements are met along the entire supply chain.“

Certified quality standard

IATF 16949 is based on ISO 9001:2015, the mother of all quality management standards, adding the requirements of the automotive industry. The certification is recognised by all automotive manufacturers worldwide and is often required along the supply chain in Europe and North America. “Certifications are gaining importance particularly with regard to international competition. Certified companies such as Rembrandtin have transparent processes and promote continuous improvements and thus are always one step ahead of other competitors“, Rob Bekkers, Executive Business Director of the Business Unit Life, Training & Certification at TÜV AUSTRIA, explains the advantages of a certification.
